Telegraph Cartoon, 12th November 2016

On Wednesday 9th November, Donald J Trump shocked the world by winning the US presidential election. The only British political figure to openly endorse Mr Trump had been Nigel Farage, who immediately travelled to Washington to congratulate the President-elect in person. Trump's advisors were said to be displeased with Theresa May's government, many of whom had made disparaging remarks about Trump during his election campaign. This prompted speculation that Farage might act as an unofficial go-between in future negotiations between Britain and the United States.
